Credit expirations extended

All label credits that were originally scheduled to expire after one year have been extended to 3 years. If you already have expired credits, or you purchased label credits and have not yet used them then their expirations have been extended out to 2015/2016. All new purchased label credits will also enjoy a three year lifespan from now on. Free label credits given when you register, when you reach your anniversary, or given by me for any reason will still have a 1 year expiration. Label credits when used will still only create (or extend) a label for one year.

This change should even further increase the value of the "Pro Brewer Pack" mentioned in the last news article. You don't have to use all your credits in any single year. A player with fewer labels can save money with the "Pro Brewer Pack" by buying credits now and holding them to renew their labels each year. If you plan to stay with the game for a while then this just makes good sense.

For those of you wondering why I have put any expiration on the credits at all... let me assure you that it is not that I want to prematurely 'expire' them to get more money out of you. These credits create a lasting liability on my accounts and I need a clean way to remove that liability for players who dissapear on me. For a small company like mine it is important to keep the accounting in order and keep the liabilities down. Today's change is one more way I can reward current players for staying with the game and helping to make it a special place for brewers to hang out.

thanks robc! hope you can stay in business this way....one small question : where do holiday labels fall into place?

Holiday labels are special and do not use a label credit. I have been of several minds on how to treat them next year and so my plans may change... but for now I think that new holiday labels will cost the same as they did last year to install (in brew bucks). Re-activating a holiday label that was already purchased may take a much smaller fee, also in brew dollars. Right now I manually activate and expire each one individually since they are handled outside the normal label/label credit code. Not sure if I answered your question or not... hope so, ask again if I missed the mark! :-)
