St. Patrick's Day event

St. Patrick's day has always been an important beer holiday and it is one week away. So do you feel lucky? Do you have any green beer made yet? No? Well then I got to you just in time then! The TBG St. Patrick's day event requires 'lucky beer', it doesn't have to be green but it has to be Irish... well, if it's not Irish then green beer will work too! If you drink lucky beer then you may just get lucky and win some special prizes, the same goes for making lucky beer too!

Let me spell it out more clearly... starting right now any Irish Red* beer made in game is automatically 'lucky.' Any other style can be made 'lucky' this week if and only if green food coloring is part of the recipe. So brew and sell any Irish Red or any other style of green beer and you will be considered a 'lucky beer maker' for the event. It is very important NOT to put this beer into your conditioning room, it must go straight from the fermentation tanks into Cold Storage and out to sale to participate.

Now I confess that the beer engine is likely to penalize you for adding food coloring to most beer styles and your quality rating may drop just for a batch or two. That's just the price you have to pay to play! So what do we win for brewing the stuff you ask? Brew money, pure and simple. How much? Could be a little, could be a lot! That all depends on how very lucky you are! The trick to this event will be that everyone who drinks a lucky beer will get prizes, and if they are drinking your lucky beer then you will share in them! More details later this week, for now you better get started making that green beer!

I'll keep a list here in the news on which beers are 'lucky' and try to update it a couple times per day. And remember to make enough because if you run out then... well that's not very lucky at all!

*Your label style must be Irish Red, changing the recipe style to Irish Red does not qualify, use green food coloring instead

So remember... the prizes have not started yet, that will happen this coming weekend... but you can start brewing lucky beer now and planning your inventories so that you have plenty available for the event!

Thanks for playing!

kind of similar question....does this only apply to batches brewed this week or batches of irish red already in cold storage?

After you brew a new batch of 'lucky' beer and put it into cold storage (skipping the conditioning room) then all of the other beer for that label that is already in cold storage will magically turn lucky, no matter when it was brewed. This effect will only last through the event... all beer will change back to normal after the event. :-)

Since there is now a 'Lucky Beers' pop-up/link on the game page I am not going to try and keep this list up to date anymore, names and inventories are changing to quickly for me to keep up anyway.

The new link will show you what lucky beers are available immediately when you click it.
