It's about time to fire up the old marketing engines and get this place to rocking again for our one year anniversary, don't you think? In late February 2012 TBG launched with a rush of new players and I am planning a big celebration to mark the event. So although I have been distracted with technical issues for some time now, I can assure you that my focus is about to return full time to getting more players to discover and try the game. I am confident that the next 45 days or so will bring us new blood and consequently a bunch of new drunks for you to hang with in the pub.

It's true that our active player populations have been low the past two weeks. The number of active players on the site dropped faster and further than I expected after the holidays especially since I turned off essentially all of the advertising. That, together with the server issues caused beer sales to slow down for a bit, but that is about to change. The good news is that we currently have 1800 registered players, 1400 beer labels (350 of which have custom images), and I am pretty certain that our half million virtual beers sold event is only a week or two away!

With so many players starting to reach 'Full Brewery' status it is more important than ever to increase the game's beer sales and I've found that the best way to do that is to get some of our inactive players to return and to recruit enthusiastic new players. So for all you veterans out there please continue to do me a big favor and when you see somebody new in the pub then welcome them to the game and give 'em a hand. I hope that the players who are at full brewery will also fire up their contract equipment and give the new players a leg up toward the all important micro brewery level. New players can be overwhelmed by all the nuances of the game too so don't forget to tell them about contract brewing because they may not know what it is and tell them all the benefits they will receive.

So to wrap up, look for our ads to start reappearing around the internet starting later this week and as always tell your friends to give us a try. If you had friends who tried it and left then ask them why for me... if I can fix stuff about the game then you know I will. Hopefully our fast new server will reduce the number of technical difficulties that anyone may have experienced and you should tell them that too!
